To remove static
from large plastic objects...such as auto parts, tubs or fiberglass
structures, it may be necessary to safely ground the operator so
that the high charges can travel to ground.
For example,
in preparing a large piece of plastic for painting, you can ground
the operator by attaching a ground wire along the air hose to a
hand-held, compressed air nozzle. As the operator blows off the
plastic object, he can lightly wipe the clean surface with a StopStatic
Ionizing Wiper or Glove pulling the static from the plastic surface
to the metal air gun to ground to remove the static. The removal
of the static thus prevents the re-attraction of dust to the clean
surface.
