StopStatic.com (a division of Alpha Innovation, Inc.) was founded
in 1996 to develop innovative static solutions that are easy for
people to implement and use.
The
company’s flagship product, Static String™, was patented
in November 1997 and quickly caught the attention of plant operators
in the printing, converting and packaging industries where static
problems interfere with production quality and efficiency. In 1998,
Static String was voted “No. 1” by Converting Magazine
and today is being used extensively throughout the world.

Alpha
Innovation received a patent for Static String “a small diameter
ionizing cord” in November 1997 and has since applied the
technology to other popular products including Static Elastic and
ion360 Ionizing Rods.
The
technology represents a dramatic improvement over traditional anti-static
products, such as electric bars, brushes and tinsel, because its
small profile allows installation in tiny gaps where static develops
between machines and substrates which are inaccessible to traditional
products. This new approach works where traditional products fail
to perform.

About the Founder

Bill Larkin
For
over 30 years, Bill Larkin has been bringing his enthusiasm,
problem solving skills and innovative spirit to the challenges
of static control with a focus on developing solutions that
are both simple to use and effective.
Mr. Larkin worked for 3M Company’s Static Control Systems
Division, developing new products including advanced nuclear
static eliminators, film and web cleaners, and systems for
the control of static during electronic device manufacture
and assembly.
In
1984, Mr. Larkin founded Alphastat Company, a consulting group
which developed static control solutions for manufacturers
in the computer industry. Working with Digital Equipment Corporation,
Alphastat developed a comprehensive static control program
for field service operations which resulted in a savings of
$28 million per year in reduced product failure rates due
to static. |
